Vince grew up in a small town in Northern California but now lives in Los Angeles. He was a punk rocker, a surfer, and the only child of two hippie parents. He studied graphic design and film at California College of the Arts in San Francisco, after which he worked across various visual mediums, including film, documentary, and print. He went on to serve as Creative Director for Juxtapoz Art Magazine which threw him directly into the explosive graffiti and skateboard scene of San Francisco. He also worked for Words & Pictures at the Cranbrook Art Academy, contributing to projects such as the title sequence design for Fight Club, which began his transition from design to film.
In 2004, Vince received an Emmy nomination for designing and directing the main title sequence for the television series Nip/Tuck. He has since directed dozens of music videos, commercials, and several short films. His videos have garnered numerous awards, including a VEVO People’s Choice “Video of the Year” award for Calvin Harris & Florence Welch “Sweet Nothing”, an MTV VMA for best EDM video for Calvin Harris “Feel So Good”, as well as UK Music Video Awards for Best Alternative Video for both Florence + The Machine “Lover to Lover”, featuring actor Ben Mendelsohn, and Raffertie “Build Me Up”. He recently directed the music video for Lana Del Rey’s “West Coast”.
Since signing with Park Pictures, Vincent Haycock has directed multiple campaigns for Modelo as well as commercials for brands such as Volvo, Toyota, Verizon, HP, Apple, and Berkshire Hathaway. He recently directed the “The Odyssey” series of music videos for Florence + The Machine’s new album, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, and the video for U2’s “Song for Someone”, starring Woody Harrelson.
