After graduating from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Jake Schreier began his film career making shorts and music videos before being signed to Santa Monica-based Plum Productions on the strength of his demo reel. A series of memorable spots for Absolut, Comcast, Heinz and McDonald’s earned him nods on Best New Director lists for Creativity, Shots, Boards and Shoot magazines, and in 2006 Jake joined Park Pictures. His blend of wry wit and lyrical visual style is fully expressed in „Your Move“ for Reebok and „Giant Tooth“ for Trident, „Touch/Feel“ for Kleenex and his short film „Jonathan Watts Gets a Hangover“ was chosen as a finalist in Creativity’s „No Spot“ film festival. Other short films by Jake have toured with RESfest and aired on IFC. Jake continues to direct music videos, with recent work for The Thrills, Brendan Benson, My Morning Jacket and Francis and the Lights.
Jake is also a founding member of the Brooklyn based filmmaking collective Waverly Films, which recently won the 2nd Annual YouTube/Toyota „Sketchies“ comedy award for their brilliant, lunatic adventure, „Sherlockbot and the Case of the Purloined Piggy Bank“ Waverly Films exploding YouTube popularity has landed the group promo directing gigs for MTV Gamer’s Week and a pilot development deal with Comedy Central. Jake lives in Brooklyn, New York.
