Chris Sargent began his film career in postproduction as a visual effects supervisor, and soon after began directing and shooting his own work. His technical expertise and unique way of seeing inspired a style behind the camera that is both strikingly visual and highly conceptual. Soon after, he hit his stride directing fulltime and hasn’t slowed since. Sargent’s visceral and poetic images are often married with the seamless employment of cutting-edge visual effects.
Sargent’s ad work includes the high profile Acura “Pulse” campaign, which fuses a man’s sensory system with the performance of his car (Grip); UAE “Armed Forces,” an atmospheric window into the dedication and training behind military service and combat (Impact BBDO Dubai); and Toyota “Today,” a journey of discovery serendipitously unfolding across beautiful landscapes (Saatchi & Saatchi). Recently he shot the 2016 and 2017 SuperBowl Commercials for Budweiser.
His distinctive voice emerged in World Wildlife Federation “Beautiful Day,” an innovative look at global warming that landed him on the radar of Creativity early on. Since then, the Toronto native who lives between there and Los Angeles, has been honored with an EMMY for his NHL “Winter Classic.”
He’s directed spots amongst others for Ford, adidas, NBA, Asics, Duracell, Toyota, Levi’s, New Balance, Lexus, VW, Reebok, Budweiser, Chrysler, Johnnie Walker and Verizon
